Service Description

WHY 5S? The 5S workplace organization system is a critical methodology for improving efficiency, productivity, and safety in various work environments. The ultimate goal of why organizations are adopting 5S is to facilitate flow of work with less to no interruptions. WHAT IS 5S? The origins of 5S are deeply rooted in Japanese manufacturing developed by Toyota in the early-to-mid 20th century. 5S (stands for Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) is a foundational element of continuous improvement. The 5S methodology is a system for organizing and managing the workspace to improve efficiency and effectiveness. OVERVIEW OF THE WORKSHOP: This one-day interactive workshop will provide the participants with the knowledge and skills to understand the benefits of 5S for them to work efficiently and creating a safe, organized workplace. Through hands-on simulation/ group activities, they will be able to practice applying 5S methodology and through GEMBA walks they will learn how to conduct a 5S audit to sustain the improvement gains.
